Dear Colleagues and Clients,
I practice law in Thimphu, Bhutan — a small jurisdiction by any measure, and that is precisely why this platform exists. When a matter crosses borders, the hardest question is rarely the law itself. It is finding the right professional on the other side of it: someone competent, reachable, and worthy of your client's trust.
Earlier in my career I spent time in Washington, D.C., where I observed international practice up close at White & Case. What stayed with me was not the scale of the firm, but the machinery behind it — every significant matter moved through a web of trusted correspondents built over decades. The lawyers I admired were technically excellent, yes. But above all, they were connected.
Back home, running Basnet Attorneys & Law, I kept meeting the same problem from the other side. Clients and fellow lawyers would ask me to recommend counsel in places I had never worked. There was no dependable place to look — only advertising budgets dressed up as reputations.
Global Law Lists is my attempt to fix that, honestly and patiently. We list law firms and lawyers across more than 240 jurisdictions and territories. We verify what can be verified, and we present each member clearly enough that a stranger can make an informed judgment. Nothing more exotic than that — done carefully, at a global scale.
