Sonam Tenzin holds a BA LLB and a Postgraduate Diploma in National Law from Jigme Singye Wangchuk School of Law, Bhutan’s first law school, where he graduated as part of the inaugural class (2017-2022). Since 2022, Sonam has been practicing as a private lawyer, representing clients in court cases and handling various legal matters. In addition to his legal practice, Sonam is the Assistant Human Resource Manager and a member of the Executive Committee at Bhutan Resorts Private Limited (Amankora), an FDI, ultra-luxury hotel chain located in five valleys across Bhutan. He leads the Human Resource Department in collaboration with an expatriate counterpart and contributes actively to Amankora’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. As Sustainability Coordinator since February 2023, Sonam has pioneered sustainability programs in Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey, and Bumthang, coordinating community projects in partnership with civil society organizations and educational institutions.
