Law Firm Overview
Micronesian Legal Services Corporation (MLSC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting equal access to justice and delivering high-quality civil legal assistance to low-income individuals and underserved communities throughout Micronesia. Established as a 501(c)(3) organization, MLSC operates under the governance of a 10-member board of directors, with representation from each region where it maintains offices.
MLSC envisions a Micronesia where justice is a right enjoyed by all—not a privilege reserved for the few. The organization strives to uphold fairness, accountability, and respect in government and community institutions. Through legal advocacy and community support, MLSC works to ensure that even the most vulnerable are heard and represented.
With offices located in Palau, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), all four states of the Federated States of Micronesia (Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae), and the Marshall Islands (Majuro and Ebeye), MLSC is deeply rooted in the communities it serves. The central administrative office is located in Saipan.
In addition to regular legal aid services, MLSC also offers resources and legal assistance during times of disaster, such as typhoons, to ensure that affected individuals and families can recover and rebuild with legal support.
MLSC is partially funded by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) and abides by all restrictions required by the Legal Services Corporation Act and applicable public laws. The organization also welcomes support through donations and cy pres awards, which help sustain and expand access to justice in the region.
By empowering individuals and strengthening communities, MLSC continues to be a beacon of fairness and legal support across Micronesia.
